Hi. My name is Stephanne and I am addicted to...bling.
There, I admit it. All that glitters is gold. To be honest, I didn't think I'd ever see the day when I'd publicly sing my praises for all things shimmery; but, I made a 6x6 acrylic Vegas Album using glitter and bling everywhere I could and now I'm totally hooked. And there's no turning back, either. The sparkle! The shine! The glitz and the glamour! It's addicting...it's FUN...And boy does it feel good now that the secret's out!
So, in honor of admitting this little guilty pleasure of mine, I thought I'd share a few favorite go-to items when it comes to adding that extra little dab of sparkle and shine to your pages and projects.
The first (and my personal favorite) is Stickles. There are thirty colors of acid-free, sparkly goodness that I just can't get enough of. I love them all. I want them all. I need them all. Great for card-making, rubber stamping, altered projects and scrapbooking layouts they're the perfect medium for adding a bit of punch & pizzazz. But like I said... they're addicting!
The second is the Sugar Coated glitter products from Doodlebug. Full of bright colors and TONS of sparkle, I have found myself drawn to them time and time again. It's no wonder they've become such a staple within the wonderful world of scrapbooking. They've got Sugar Coated Cardstock, Sugar Coated Brads, and best of all... bottles of Sugar Glitter! Want to collect them all? Do what I did and buy the variety pack (pictured above)! The bottles are much smaller, but you get 12 colors that last forever! I totally love it! Oh! And I almost forgot! For those of you who have been hooked on this stuff for the last year or so... Doodlebug is introducing FOUR NEW COLORS of sugar coated cardstock this fall. Buttercream (pale yellow), pistachio, bubble blue (light blue), and leapfrog (grass green)! WOOHOO!
Now for my third and final item...Bazzill Bling. There are 52 colors now. FIFTY-TWO! How cool is that? What I love about bling cardstock is that is perfect for those projects where you just want some subtle sparkle. Add a strip here, a photo mat there, or use it as a background layered with patterned papers... it's always just enough to get the sparkle you want without totally overwhelming your photos or your overall theme!
So go ahead... bring out your inner Scrapbook Diva--it's time to shine!
