Halloween festivities seem to be getting more and more prevelant with each passing year. I know in our family, we have a big ol' monster bash the weekend before the big day that serves as both Halloween party and family get-together. The kids dress up, paint pumpkins and we pig out on some spooky snacks that have become quite the traditional fare!
I've been wanting to do a page that gives a little shout-out to some of those special treats we crave year after year, so when my turn for the Sketch of the Week posting came around I figured this was as good a time as any to get that page done and into the books!
The sketch I chose came from Becky Fleck's October Page Maps. I didn't have a lot of pictures to work with and I was kind of inspired by the way the title and embellishments were laid out on the sketch. Things didn't turn out exactly that way on my layout, but... you get the gist.
I drew in spiders on the chipboard letters to serve as the open spaces on the B, O's and the D. Unfortunately, they look more like ants than spiders! Hahaha... oh well. They'll give me a giggle someday as I'm browsing through old layouts in my albums.
All of the patterned papers and embellishments came from Bella Blvd's Too Cute to Spook collection. The background, however, is one of those fancy-shmancy glazed cardstocks from Bazzill. If you're looking for something to spice up your "white space" without distracting the reader from your images and the journaling, these glazed cardstocks are perfect!
