Hello and Happy CHA Week to all of you checking in with us this fine Monday morning! The first big product release of the year kicked off with the first day of the show yesterday and let me tell ya--it's been incredibly exciting seeing all of the new products rolling out! Stay tuned to the blog all this week for a few snippets and highlights for what's new in stores this week and what's still to come!
But first, to kick our week off in its traditional fashion, we've got a Sketch of the Week to share with you today! This one comes to you courtesy of yours truly with a little help from one of my favorite sketch resources--Sketch Support--and a favorite local scrapbook company--Jillibean Soup.
This particular sketch just happen to be one of the free, printable sketches available at Sketch Support. When you go to the site, on the right-hand side you'll see a link for printable sketches. This is a "One Page Sketch", so click on that and voila... it will take you to a listing of all of the one page, printable sketches available with TONS of links to past posts where you can see that particular sketch in action.
What's awesome is, the printable sketch version that you just click to print or share, includes all of the specifications for how big to cut what and where to put it on your page. Awesome.
For my interpretation of the sketch, I used Jillibean Soup's "Hearty Barley" collection, which I've been dying to use since it was first released last Fall. I knew I'd had these pictures of my daughter with the brown dress with the hearts leftover from last year and with the woodgrain background and the stitched hearts paper--it was perfect.
Doing this layout was a stretch outside my comfort zone because rarely--if ever--do I complete a page without setting off my photos with some sort of photo mat or border of any kind. There are no mini brads grounding them, no faux stitching--nothing. And the jury's still out.
In other news... I'm happy to report that Scrapbook Generation--the team behind the Sketch Support blog and the creators of one our best-selling sketch resources thus far--has two new books coming out next month!
If you're interested in having a copy set aside for you once they come in, please contact the Scrapbook Studio store nearest you! Books will be available for purchase online as well--as soon as they're in stock!

great take on the sketch!
