CHA Summer 2009 - Cricut

It's a bird... it's a plane... it's... it's... Provo Craft's latest Cricut Cartridge--SUPERMAN. Superman is one of the most recognizable symbols of Truth, Justice, and the American way, and you can create your own adventures with this brand new Superman cartridge. In addition to images of Superman, Clark Kent, Lex Luthor, and Supergirl, this cartridge contains an exciting comic-style font that is great for decorating scrapbooks, a child's room, or your own comic book. You can also cut out cards, envelopes, boxes, party favors, Clark Kent's glasses, and other decorations that would be perfect for an action-packed birthday party!

You can also cut out an exciting assortment of party supplies, such as costume pieces, party favors, gift boxes, cards, envelopes, and 3D gadgets that will make your birthday kid feel like a Hero.

Then--perfect for the upcoming calendar-making season--Designer's Calendar! Stop settling for boring calendars and make your own instead! This cartridge contains everything you need to create beautiful, personalized calendars, including months, days of the week, major holidays, and images. As a bonus, you also get two fonts with shadows so you can customize special days and events. Designer's Calendar is a versatile resource that can be used for home decor, scrapbooking, card making, and other projects just let your imagination take the lead!

And last of the new cartridges but most certainly not the least... for your child's favorite furry friend and mine--ELMO's Party. Make your birthday party complete with Elmo, one of the most beloved characters on television today. This cartridge features Elmo and his friends, plus 3D images you can cut out for an Elmo's World themed birthday party, such as cards, party hats, party decorations, gift boxes, party games, and much more. You can also decorate daycare centers, classrooms, scrapbook pages, and nurseries for your biggest Elmo fan.

But I'm afraid the "big buzz" out there in Cricut land is the new Gypsy tool. Life shouldn't slow down when you get inspired with a good design, right? CHA Summer 2009 - Jillibean Soup

I have been a huge, huge, huge fan of Jillibean Soup for a while now but in case you haven't heard or seen about this local company's products just yet, please allow me to introduce them to you now as a "Friday Favorite" of mine!

Above, you'll see little snippets of two new collections Jillibean is introducing this week at CHA--Alphabet Soup and Grandma's Christmas Crab Soup.  After browsing through their website you'll start to notice that Jillibean's really got it goin' on... their papers & embellishments are very unique, very fun, and very basic so they're incredibly versatile to use.

Lentil Soup and Talk Soup are two more collections they've introduced (pictured above) along with their "soup staples" (photo below). The staples are probably my most favorite because they demonstrate the innovative versatility of jillibean with the trendy colors and classic patterns you can combine with other patterned papers, cardstocks, ribbons, accents, and more! 
 

Jillibean started out with a product line printed on 100% recycled Kraft paper last year and that's actually what drew me to them at first--it's what made them really stand out from the rest, you know? And while a lot of people might find it plain, I find it full of potential because you can add pretty much anything to Kraft to create the look you want. I like to combine bright papers with my Kraft patterns to mix a little "spunk" with the crafty, homemade look and left just as-is the kraft papers are great for heritage pages, weddings, geneology, school, etc! Jillibean has since expanded their product line, brought in a bunch of different colors and patterns and then... then there's the "goods".

Acrylic stamps, wooden buttons and twill, Number "Sprouts" and Calendar "Sprouts"... just to name a few!So you know how popular journaling spots have become in this world (naturally, as journaling is the most important part of scrapbooking, next to the photos of course)... well, Jillibean makes journaling "sprouts" in both white or kraft so you can use them for pretty much anything and everything. (Have I mentioned how versatile these products are?)

CHA Summer 2009 - Karen Foster

One of my favorite Scrapbooking companies is Karen Foster. When it comes to "filling in the gaps" for different themes, they always seem to have what you need--baptism, circus, potty training, rugby. You know, all of the often hard-to-find products for those once-in-a-lifetime moments! This summer at CHA they've expanded that already wide range of themes and topics to include volleyball, soccer, Halloween, Christmas, Adventure, cowboy/cowgirl, etc!

  
And here's the scrapbooking stuff (pictured below)... so now we can scrapbook our scrapbooking! Yay! Afterall, attending a crop, doing what you love, often means time spent among family and friends! And trust me... I've been to some very MEMORABLE crops!

Anyway... These are just a few of the highlights from Karen Foster's Summer collection. You can see additional images and details here.  One of the most creative ideas I saw on the website were the canning and gift label kits. How great would that be for Christmas gifts, housewarming gifts, hostess gifts, etc!

CHA Summer 2009 - Imaginisce

I'm seeing a theme with this year's CHA releases... "something for everybody". You got your Christmas collections--some of them bright and vivid, some of them vintage, some of them with the traditional colors and some of them with the pinks and teals and browns.  There's Halloween papers that suit every style. Cooking, baking and recipe papers for individual tastes, color schemes that are hip and trendy and others that are cool and classic. And Imaginisce's new CHA release is no different... we've got somethin' for the girls and somethin' for the boys!

 

First up is "Perfectly Posh"... a collection of double-sided papers, plastic and puffy stickers (ooh la la!), chipboard stickers, VINYL stickers, sticker stackers, rubons, ribbons, fancy blossoms, $1 stamps and all things girly, frilly, pretty and well... posh!

CHA Summer 2009 - Reminisce Sarari

I had the privilege of spending a day at the Columbus Zoo on Sunday for my husband's company picnic. We had an aboslute blast taking a relaxing stroll through North America, Asia, Australia, etc. We saw Beco (the new baby elephant), checked out the penguins and the monkeys, the lions, bears, you name it. Naturally, I took a ton of pictures but since it was just four days ago I hadn't even thought about having them printed or scrapbooking them yet... until I came across a preview of the Safari Collection by Reminisce. For those of you who are truly wild at heart, this collection is totally for you.

    
You got your tiger prints, giraffe prints, leopard and cheetah prints, zebra prints, gazelle prints, paw prints, elephant prints... the list seriously goes on and on and on! And then... (you ready for this?)...

UV-textured crocodile and elephant skin papers and flocked zebra and tiger papers! It's just what our zoo pages have been missing all these years--texture!! Plus, the collection also includes cardstock stickers, chipboard stickers, ribbon stickers, 3-D stickers and clear stickers to boot!
    
So I've got my zoo pictures that need printed and the titles and ideas are flowing through my head already. (I'm sure all of you zoo-a-holics can relate!) I'm raedy to scrapbook!! But you know, one of the most difficult aspects of CHA, in spite of all of the excitement and inspiration that just oozes from such an event, is the fact that a lot of the product is not yet in stores! AHH!! I tell myself daily--patience is a virtue, patience is a virtue, patience is a virtue. Good things come to those who wait, right? Well, this collection is definitely at the top of MY waiting list... what collection(s) that you've seen or heard of so far are at the top of yours?

CHA Summer 2009 - Making Memories Spook Alley

Ok, so... I'm borrowing the Slideshow from the Making Memories blog because today is Halloween Day (for CHA releases anyway) and their Halloween release "Spook Alley" is, as always, a favorite of mine. You have to make sure you check out their blog, though, because they're giving away prizes like CRAZY over there and you don't want to miss out on the opportunity, that's for sure! And if you're not a regular reader of theirs, you really should add it to your daily blog-reading routine. CHA Summer 2009 - Halloween

 It's the next big thing on the calendar, right? Well... I've got a few of the goods to show you here, with some spooky sneak peeks from Quickutz, Reminisce, My Little Yellow Bicycle, Fancy Pants, Creative Imaginations, KI Memories and Dream Street Papers!

 
Quickutz has a lineup of Halloween dies this year that are super stinkin' cute ... plus (and I can't really spill the beans just yet on the details) later in August and early September you'll see a couple of follow-up holiday releases for Thanksgiving and Christmas (as they do every year) that will knock your socks off!

 Pictured above is a little snippet of the Creative Imaginations "Wicked" collection from Renae's House. There's 3 double-sided papers, stickers and epoxy accents!

Fancy Pants Designs brings us the "Trick or Treat" lineyou see here... looks like there's more sheer overlays and colorful rubons to add to our creepy collections of Halloween treats! I snagged the two samples below to show you a few of their products in action! 
 

My Little Yellow Bicycle is always a favorite of mine and they've also released a Halloween collection entitled "Trick or Treat". And it's no trick--you'll find their papers and embellishments "treat"-ed with flocking, thermography, metallic surfaces and glitter (of course) and there's something for everyone in the wide variety of coordinating embellishments they offer--buttons, chipboard accents, stickers, epoxy, felt shapes, ribbon and brads! 
  
Dream Street Papers also has a fresh new collection of gentle but ghoulish papers and extras called "Superstition". Designed by Tracy Whitney, this line is very simple and subtle which is great for capturing the holiday without the overpowering "kapow" of the traditional Halloween theme. This one's one of my favs... I think it would be great for scrapbooking Harry Potter or your Edgar Allen Poe book club meetings, don't you? :-)
 
KI Memories is introducing a Halloween line this summer as well! I haven't found any photos YET, but here's a little sneak peek to get your creative spirits goin'... Their Halloween collections in the past have always been full of bright colors and frosty (shimmery) patterns so I'm excited to actually see the actual papers and embellishments that accompany this little teaser below...
 
And finally, there's Reminisce, who every year puts the sparkle in the spooky and comes out with shimmery patterns of double-sided papers that really put the pizazz in the traditional pumpkin! I'm personally diggin' the creative journaling stickers from their Halloween 2009 line...those are so unique! Love 'em!

And the "Trick or Treat" line? Oh my gosh... FAB-U-LOUS.

CHA Summer 2009 - Piggy Tales

Piggy Tales is a family owned and operated scrapbook supply manufacturer based in Las Vegas, Nevada. They specialize in creating unique and interactive scrapbook supplies named after your favorite fairy tales! Since their debut in 2006 they've delighted scrapbookers of the world with their bright and colorful designs, trendy patterns and innovative products.  This summer they're introducing three more fairy tale collections complete with double-sided patterned papers, rubons, chipboard accents the infamous barndoors!

First up is "Simple Simon"--a back-to-school lineup featuring primary colors and classic images that will accompany all of those school day moments perfectly! (Can you believe that it's already time to start thinking about heading back to school? AHH!!!)

    

This next collection, "5 Little Ducks" is probably my favorite from this release because the little ducky, froggy, turtle and whale characters are just adorable. Can you just see these papers on a layout accompanying a pair of photos with your child(ren) playin' in the pool with one of those inflatable duck inner tubes? Wouldn't that be just... oh, so cute?!

   
And finally, we've got the "Bats and the Weasels"--a cute little Halloween line that's both festive and fun. There's a lot of Halloween products making their debut this week at CHA and I'll be showcasing a bunch of them tomorrow right here on the blog, so stay tuned!

Ooh... Did you hear that? Are the hairs standing up on the back of your neck? It's nothing to be afraid of, but there's definitely something Eerie in the air. Eerie, the double-sided, Halloween-inspired collection will put a jolt in your next fall creation. Playful enough for children's pages but still full of elegance and mystery for the adult-themed layouts, Eerie is a perfect collection of "frightening fun" and "terrifically terrifying".

CHA Summer 2009 - Bo Bunny

The CHA (Craft & Hobby Association) Summer Tradeshow starts tomorrow in Orlando, FL. For those of you who are new to the scrapbooking world, twice a year CHA hosts a trade show where manufacturers present their "latest and greatest" for all of us retailers to ooh and ahh over and begin to place orders for! The shows are usually held in the summertime (July) and in the winter (January/February) and shortly thereafter hot, new products begin to appear on store shelves worldwide. It's really exhilarating! Well, although Cord Scrapbook Studio will not be attending the show this year, I'm not letting that stop me from sharing with you all of the sneak peeks and new product highlights I can find!

Come late August/early September, a lot of the new Autumn products begin to hit shelves in preparation for the upcoming season. So lots of rustic oranges, browns, deep yellows, etc appear with the traditional leaf and pumpkin prints we've all come to associate with the Fall. Well, Bo Bunny has released two collections I think "fall" into this category even though they don't necessarily exhibit the usual Autumn color scheme. "Delilah" is full of rich, Autumn hues with a little pink thrown in there for good measure and it's not only good for the Fall, but for little girls and babies as well! And then there's "Gypsy"--a collection that marries the traditional colors with a splash of turquoise and bold, bohemian patterns versatile enough to be used with any theme!

 

And what would Autumn be without Halloween, right? Check out "Boo Crew"--a super cute, super spooky collection that's got all of the festive "funk" you need to capture the costumes, the cobwebs and the creepy crawlies you've got in your household this year!

   

"Flutter Butter" is another simple, but elegant collection I think could be used anywhere in your scrapbooks or on your cards. I especially think it would be super cute for babies--the colors are both delicate and neutral so you could use them for both boy or girl. And for those of you who love those trendy butterflies we see popping up out of the scrapbooking woodwork lately, this collection is for you!

Bo Bunny designers have definitely been busy putting together this release and I think the payoff is going to be out of this world. Seven awesome collections complete with double-sided patterned papers, buttons, rubons, stickers, jewels and more? I am so in love. But in addition to the two Christmas collections we previewed last week and the four I described above, if I had to choose a favorite it would most likely be the "Kitchen Spice" collection!

Perfect for Fall, Recipe albums, cooking/baking pages... I immediately fell in love with the colors and the theme. (Having baking/cooking items come August and September with Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner is a MUST!)
