National Scrapbooking Day Re-Cap

We had quite the party here last Saturday and for those of you who were able to join us--thanks so much for making this one of the best National Scrapbooking Day crops --EVER!

I tell ya... when Amy plans a party, she plans a par-TAY! There were games (one of which took a cropper for quite a spin!), raffle prizes, goodie bags and an ADORABLE mini album kit by Basic Grey (pictured above) for each cropper... and the food? Amazing! (Or so I've heard... I actually wasn't at the crop but hearing about all the fun they had--I'm totally bummed I missed out!)

For those of you who didn't make it to the crop this year, we certainly missed you but hope you enjoyed your special hobby-holiday doing the one thing you love most--scrapbooking! (What else?) Whether you went on a scrapbook store tour through your area (scopin' out the savings!), had a few friends over to scrapbook the night away or simply stayed home to re-organize your scrap space...we hope you had a chance to celebrate YOU!

It's too bad it only comes around once a year... :-)

Stay tuned next week as the "Store of the Month" feature returns to the Scrapbook Studio blog--this time around we're takin' a road trip to Delaware! Buckle your virtual seatbelts... it's going to be a great ride!

Daisy Scouts!

Last Thursday we had a very special visit from a very special group of 20 Daisy Girl Scouts at the Macedonia store!

 

To earn their scrapbooking badges, the girls completed a 12x12 page layout with a fall theme using products from Karen Foster and Maya Road as well as the Ellison Die Cut Center where they made all of those brightly colored fall leaves for their pages! They learned how to combine the different elements of a page and how to incorporate a few new techniques (how to use die cuts, cover chipboard, decorate with stickles, etc.)

       

When they had completed their pages, they proceeded to the photo lab, where Marianne showed them how photos are processed (both digital and film!)

     

Thank you, Troop #58 for coming out to visit us! We had a great time and we hope you did as well! Don't forget to come back and show us your new scrapbooking badges!

   

A great big Thank You to all of our Scrap Pink croppers! We had a great time with 314 croppers throughout all of our stores and together raised a little over $3150 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation! Five Days left until Scrap Pink!

We are so excited to be participating in the Scrap Pink event again this year. For those of you who have not yet heard of Scrap Pink, it is a nationwide fundraising campaign partnering with the Susan G. Komen foundation and Scrapbooks, Etc. Magazine. The campaign culminates in an exciting on-site crop hosted by each of the participating independent scrapbooking retailers across the country on the weekend of September 26-28th. In lieu of an in-store credit, $10 of the crop fee will supoprt Komen for the Cure’s promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all, and energizing science to find the cures. Last year, Cord donated over $3,000 from our Scrap Pink crops!

Doesn't this sound like fun?! Crops are filling up fast and in many locations (Clintonville, Dayton, Nora and North Olmsted) we've already sold out! The crop at your local Cord Scrapbook Studio takes place Saturday, September 27th from Noon to Midnight! The cost to crop is $40 and you'll receive lunch, dinner, cake and snacks/drinks throughout the day. In addition, you'll get a Make-n-Take specially created for Scrap Pink croppers, plus a special Scrap Pink coupon!

Did I mention the part about wearing pink? Oh yeah... that's the fun part! Although not a requirement by any means, it's just one more way to show your support for a great cause!
