So to stir up a little holiday inspiration in spite of the nearly 80 degree temps, we have a few cheerful projects to share thanks to Design Team Members Celeste Brodnik and Mary Pat Siehl!

Designer's Note: This cone wreath is super fun and easy to make! Make a cardstock circle base. Then make paper cones using different pattern pieces. For the large base of cones, I used a 4" square and folded the paper to make a cone and adhered it to the circle base. For the next layer of cones, I used a 3" square. Adhere these directly to the first round of cones. Next, create a center piece. I made a 4" circle and attached a holiday greeting and attached it to the center of the wreath. For the hook, I attached ribbon on the back so that I could hang this fun wreath!

Ok, bear with me for just one post here.
Pretend it's mid-December and it's 40 degrees instead of 90.
There are Christmas carols on the radio instead of the Beach Boys.
And there's brown, dead snow-grass instead of brown, dead drought-grass.
(I probably lost you with that last one, didn't I...)
Ok, ok... the point is that for JUST ONE DAY, we're going to "play" as if we were in the midst of the holiday season instead of the Summer. Then we'll wrap it up (no pun intended) and tomorrow we'll be back to Summer-stuff again. Capiche?
So, without further adieu... MERRY CHRISTMAS IN JULY! We're celebrating two ways... first, with a series of projects from DT Member Janet Zeppa!

"Season's Greetings" Card by Janet Zeppa
For this one, head over to Janet's blog for complete supply list and details! (And while you're there, drop her a line and say hello!)
We're also celebrating "Christmas in July" in stores with our ONE DAY ONLY Red & Green Sale which lasts all day today--open to close--while supplies last!
The "New Christmas Lines" special includes Authentique's Festive collection featured above in today's post! (We had another line scheduled to come in, but their shipping was delayed. Boo.)
So... I'll make you a promise and let you know that this is the LAST Christmas-related post we'll do here on the blog until September when holiday product is fully stocked in stores and card-makers and crafters alike are knee-deep in their holiday projects! Sad to say, it'll be here before we know it!

We interrupt our regularly-scheduled "What's New Wednesday" series to bring you a bit of news you'll certainly want to take note of!
We've got some new Christmas goodies in stores, but it's still SUMMER!
<shake head & insert tears of insanity here> WAA!
So here's the deal... Some of the new Christmas lines being announced this week at CHA will start shipping early-mid August. Then there's a new batch of releases coming in September and some in October. So what you're going to see is a revolving-door-style presentation of all of this great holiday stuff now through December! And the bottom line is... we want to get it in and get it out so we can continue to bring in the new--to keep things fresh, you know? (Without sacrificing variety, of course... trust me, we'd carry it ALL if we could!)
NEXT WEDNESDAY, everything that's Christmas (whether it's hot of the press or not) will be 40% off the regular price. Paper lines, stamps--everything.
On top of that, anything that's RED or GREEN--be it paper, a sticker, a pen or an inkpad, a punch--will be 30% off the regular price.
Think of it as an opportunity to get first dibs on the first Christmas line(s) of the season AND to have a little "scavenger hunt" fun on the side! Remember... these deals are only good Wednesday, July 25th while stores are open. (And some restrictions do apply, so be sure to ask a sales associate if you have any questions.)

We've got two giant skids of product bins & boxes we're driving up to the Memories Expo for setup this afternoon! Wanna know what's in 'em? I'm sure you do! But first, for those of you who may be new to the Expo, let me begin by giving you a general idea of what to expect...
Imagine a great big, giant room. And in this room are a bunch of booths lined up with aisles in between. Each booth houses a different vendor--like local yocals Cord Scrapbook Studio, Red Letter Journals, and Jillibean Soup (among others)! And each vendor has packed a TON of goodies within their booth's walls--fabulous offers, inspirational ideas, product demos and more!
So you come in and register. And then you have up to SEVEN whole hours to shop, crop and mingle among the aisles. Stock up on page kits and tools, patterned papers and embellishments, participate in a few make-n-takes and just... chill. There are even "crop stop" locations on the show floor where you can stop to take a breather and try out some of your purchases!
Get the gist?
Now... here's just a sneak peek/preview on what you'll find at booth #217!
A Bit of the Basics
Fabulous prices on the items you use most--like high-quality, 12x12 leather and linen albums from We R Memory Keepers! You could save up to 50% on the albums themselves and over 40% on refills!
Adhesives--we all use them. And one of our favorites--and yours--is the Glue Glider brand with their easy-to-use cartridges and simple application! Stock up and save anywhere from 50% to 60% on assorted refill cartridges--with no limits!!
Tools of the Trade
Raise your hand if you crave new tools! Innovations that make your life as a papercrafter that much easier! Well, you're in luck... because we've got some we can't wait to share! Like the new Lucky 8 punches from We R Memory Keepers, as well as their Sew Easy and Sew Ribbon products! And the best part of it is, we'll be offering them at our lowest prices EVER.
Got Cricut? Whelp... we've got cartridges. $35 for one or TWO for $50! Beef up your Cricut library with some of the classics!
Perty Papers
You'll find a variety of patterned papers and coordinating cardstock from Jillibean Soup, Bella Blvd, Echo Park, Simple Stories, Scrappin' Sports, and WRMK in themes ranging from birthdays to Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day and sports! All of them-- Five sheets for $3. Plus, all of the coordinating stickers and embellishments will be available 30% off while supplies last!
$.15/sheet is a good price for cardstock--especially a brand that comes highly recommended for use with your favorite digital die-cutting machines! 100 sheets of American Crafts cardstock in a beautiful, rainbow assortment will be available for just $15/ea. Stock up, ladies & gents--that's a steal!
Make-n-Takes & More!
A few of our very talented Design Team members will be hanging out with us at our Make-n-take tables!! WOOHOO!! Now's your chance to meet them in person and share your scrapbooking passions as we rotate through a variety of different projects all weekend long! Projects will vary in price from $1-$2.
And trust me... these are just a few of the highlights. You'll just have to stop by for the rest! (I can't give away ALL my secrets, can I?)
The 2012 Memories Scrapbooking Expo kicks off TOMORROW (Friday) at 10am and we'll be there with bells on! (Well, not really... but you know what I mean...) Call up a friend, bring a tote you're comfortable carrying around, your basic cropping tools if you're hoping to steal a moment to scrap and I believe most booths accept major credit cards and/or cash (in case you're wondering).
That's pretty much it in a nutshell... phew!
Off to get things set up and ready! Will I see you tomorrow?!

Who's ready for another 12-hour crop? Anyone?! Anyone?!
Well... you're in LUCK. Because as LUCK would have it, we've got another one scheduled for Saturday, March 17th from 10am to 10pm.
That's right... 12 long hours of uninterrupted crop time at your local Cord Scrapbook Studio. Each cropper will have 4ft of crop space, a comfy reclinable chair, a complimentary snack pack and bottled water, and a special gift from us. But the real pot o' gold? Oh yes... that would be the exclusive after-hours cropper discounts. Holla!
So... remember how I told you yesterday that you'd want to prepare to mark your calendar? Well, you'll not only want to check your calendar and make plans with your scrappin' buddies, but you'll want to call your local store as soon as you get those plans confirmed. Our 12-hour crops do fill up quickly!
I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but I really don't mind saying it again. We feel pretty darn LUCKY to have what we feel is the best bunch of croppers--ever. You're our pot o' gold at the end of a scrappin' rainbow... and we can't wait to spend another morning+afternoon+evening sharing this fabulous hobby with you!

Given the warmer-than-usual December temperatures and the lack of holiday snowfall thus far, I'm going to need you to imagine--just for a second--that there's a foot of snow outside your window right now.
Pretty, white, sparkly piles of snow as far as the eye can see. And since we're imagining, we might as well pretend there's no muddy slush or ice dirtying our pretty picture here and that we don't have to go out and drive in it for any reason whatsoever. There... much better.
Now you're probably wondering why I'm asking you to picture snow when you're probably rejoicing that in 14 days of December and on into this week's forecast, there has been and probably won't be any snow AT ALL.
I'm not crazy... Really. Reason #1 is... I'm a snow belter, through-and-through. Born and raised up near Lake Erie, it's what I know and it just doesn't feel like December--let alone Christmas--without it!
But more importantly, Reason #2 is that it's time to announce the first 12-Hour Crop of 2012 and I wanted to "set the mood"!
See... "Beat the Winter Blues" sounded so much more fun & festive than "Beat the Winter Rain" so we went with it. But what is a "Beat the Winter Blues" crop without any winter blues (a.k.a. some serious snowfall)? Hence our little imagining game...
Rain or snow, the point is... we're having a 12-Hour crop the fourth Saturday in January (the 28th) at our Graceland & Nora stores and we'd LOVE to have you join us! Registration is open now and your $18 crop fee includes 4ft of crop space with a comfy reclinable chair, a "snack pack" and bottled water, exclusive offers for after-hours shopping and a little gift from us.
Who knows. At the rate this season's going, we could be hosting the crop wearing shorts and flip-flops (carrying an umbrella), but at least we'll have a blast regardless of the weather!
